BetMGM Sportsbook has launched a new deposit option for customers in states where sports betting is legal. Starting now, customers can buy BetMGM gift cards in-person at retail outlets across the US. Customers can buy BetMGM gift cards in denominations of $25 and $50 at more than 6,000 locations, such as Dollar General, various grocers, and convenience stores.

Payment services provider TAPPP announced the partnership with BetMGM on Tuesday. BetMGM Gift cards are now available in eight states, with more to come soon. Currently, customers of legal gambling age can buy BetMGM gift cards in the following states:

• Michigan
• West Virginia
• Colorado
• Virginia
• Iowa
• Indiana
• Tennessee 

Flexible Way to Bet

BetMGM and TAPPP tout the new gift cards as a flexible and convenient deposit method. In a press release, TAPPP Founder & CEO Sandy Agarwal said this:

Bettors can visit the TAPPP store locator to find the nearest sales outlet and then purchase gift cards with cash for simple deposits or gift them to friends. Common sales outlets include Dollar General, Speedway, Sheetz, and Kum & Go.

TAPP gift cards offer more than just convenience and high success rates; customers also earn a $10 bonus with every card they purchase. Each $10 bonus comes with a 1x wagering requirement on the original deposit, bonus, and winnings before customers may withdraw the bonus funds. Bonuses expire after 30 days.

Convenient Deposit Method

Users can then redeem their gift cards by logging in to their BetMGM accounts, visiting the cashier, and selecting the “BetMGM Gift Card Option.” From there, users input the PIN number printed on the card to complete the transaction. BetMGM gift card deposits do not fail unless customers input the wrong PIN number or have exceeded their personal daily deposit limit.

BetMGM does not assess any fees for depositing via gift cards, and it instantly credits customers’ accounts with the funds. From there, bettors can immediately get to betting. The inclusion of a $10 bonus for every gift card should sweeten the deal, even for players who already have convenient deposit methods in place. The limited array of denominations ($25 and $50) could be a stumbling block for uptake among higher-volume bettors, but customers may purchase and redeem multiple gift cards to effectively make larger deposits.
